Intended for single use only, you simply stick the adhesive-backed plastic-coated label to a dish rack or piece of dishware before putting it in the dishmachine. The dishwasher safe labels feature thermochromic ink that changes color when a certain temperature range is reached. The labels have three indicators—160ºF, 170ºF and 180ºF—for commercial dishwasher temperature requirements. If you’re testing wash water temperature, you remove the rack or item after the wash cycle, or after the final rinse if testing a hot water rinse cycle. The color change will indicate whether the proper temperature has been reached. Remove the label, and blanks on the test strip for the date and employee initials make recording results for HACCP programs easy.
